employees from manufacturers. Employees simply open the box, power on the device and sign in. Then policies, profiles, and configurations are all delivered to the device, over- the-air so the care worker can be effective almost immediately. The process is simple for employees — they only need to enter their email and password — and the full set of applications and data is silently provisioned on the device, usually in around 30-60 minutes. The process works from any internet connection so employees can setup devices while in their own homes. For Alive Hospice, devices can be delivered to employees faster and without IT physically handling the device. Alive’s IT team no longer manually manage devices, leaving them more time to focus on innovative solutions for patient care.
Alive Hospice has 400 employees and is in Nashville, TN in the United States. They reached out to Mobile Mentor, a New Zealand company, for assistance with remote working — prior to the Covid pandemic. Alive wanted to empower their nurses, case managers and chaplains to work remotely and minimise the burden on IT. Little did they know that this solution would be instrumental in limiting care worker exposure to Covid-19 and most importantly, protect their vulnerable patient community. Alive Hospice operates a large in- home hospice programme where patients stay with family during the end stages of their lives. This means most hospice workers are in the field. Yet onboarding new employees and supporting existing employees meant frequent trips to the head office. This wasted employees’ time and reduced time for patient care and assistance. When Alive Hospice contacted Mobile Mentor, they were in search of a solution that would reduce or eliminate unnecessary travel, free up IT resources, and be simple for employees to use. Mobile Mentor, a specialist in modern work and security and a Microsoft Gold Partner, was able to deploy Zero Touch Provisioning (ZTP) at Alive Hospice. ZTP is a concept that means laptops, smartphones, and tablets can be shipped directly to

During the pandemic, they have been able to deploy many more devices to workers and patients to support them remotely without interruption or contamination risk. Through this technology, Alive Hospice was able to ensure continuity of care for patients and families that desperately needed it. Mobile Mentor is a Kiwi company taking its endpoint management
